Hidden
Valley is an adult community, serving persons 55 or older. Dick
and Jeane Schuler started construction in Hidden Valley in 1957
and have owned and managed the Park since this time. Their two
children, Mark and Deanna, were raised in the Park and have many
fond memories of life centered around social interaction with
their many, many grandparents. They are now grown, teach school
in the local area and take an active interest in the affairs of
the Park. Mark runs the sewer plant and helps with the water treatment
process while Deanna works with the Park finances.
Because
of the careful planning and foresight the management is able to
continually update the park facilities as the conditions change.
As an example, as the single wide manufactured home gave way in
popularity to the double wide, the lots at Hidden Valley were
large enough to accept the larger homes and there are now many
double wides in the Park.
In
Hidden Valley, retirees live graciously in a beautiful, spacious,
country setting. Here you will find great neighbors, shady lots,
paved and lighted streets, a recreation hall, shuffleboard, courts
and planned activities.
The
Hidden Valley Activity Association, a resident lead association,
plans a sull schedule of events each year. Bridge, card
and board games, the Chat and Sew Club, the Newcomers
Club, bowling, biking and walking, pot
luck suppers and cook-outs are scheduled on a regular
basis.
Many
residents frequently get together for shuffleboard using
our own facilities. Golfing on one of the many local golf
courses, going to the beach, fishing at the ocean,
on the St. Johns River or on one of the many area lakes, hiking,
picnicking and camping in the Ocala National Forest
or swimming at Ponce DeLeon Springs, our local state park
are other activities residents frequently persue.
Many
opporitunities are available for those with other interests. All
the denominations of the major religious organizations have churches
in the local area. Stetson University and a fine regional library
are located in the closeby DeLand. Most civic, service and fraternal
cllubs are available in the area and opporitunities abound for
those who like to volunteer in the hospitals.
You
can be as active or as passive as you wish.
Hidden
Valley Park, Inc. is a licensed
manufactured home dealership.
We would be pleased if you would stop by
to chat about the perfect home for you.
The
Family is aware that, to remain competitive, the facilities and
grounds at Hidden Valley must be constantly maintained and upgraded.
An addition to the recreation hall was added last year and plans
are presently in the works for an emergency generator system to
keep the water and the sewer plant operating during the periods
of commercial power failure.
The
management feels that you will be pleasantly surprised at the
cost of the lot rentals, which include water, sewage, garbage,
and trash costs, the recreation facilities already mentioned,
and such things as street lights and paved roads. Please call
us collect or visit us to receive information about our rates
and park rules. Plan to be in the picture.
